Hi everyone, I’m Jill, upcycling junky!
I have always been a creative person and in more recent years I have enjoyed looking for things for my home in charity shops, antique yards and have even managed to score some freebies from friends and family. 🙂
Nothing in my house matches, which I love, but even more exciting for me is the potential every piece of furniture has. Taking something that may seem tired to some and creating something beautiful, unique and functional from it can be very satisfying.
This of course is not limited to furniture. I have been known to make cushions from my old suit trousers, make decorations from scrap fabric and of course I always try to reuse things for my kids Halloween costumes.
It’s good to be green
Upcycling is not only really fun, but it is also good for the environment. Reusing, renewing and repurposing your things means that you don’t have to throw away the old to get the new, you can create the new from the old.
I know it can seem a bit daunting at first because you don’t know where to start which is why having a step by step guide is great.
That’s where I step in!
So I hope you have fun trying out new things with your old stuff and please feel free to post your stories and photos to let me know how you get on.
Also, I am here to help, so any questions or comments you may have, please just let me know.
Thank you for taking a look.
