Memory Jar

So it gets to the end of the year and most of us think, What on earth happened? Where did the year go?

We find ourselves focusing on all the hardships we may have had that year or thinking about what resolutions we should be making to avoid creating the same mistakes.

A much nicer way to end the year would be to look back at all the good moments and happy memories we created.

A great way to do this is with a memory jar. Every time something great happens or something makes you smile, just write it down, date it and stick it in your memory jar!

All you need is a jar, some ribbon, a tag and some memories.

I used an old sweet jar that the kids got for xmas one year and a leftover xmas tag. It really isMemory Jar that simple!

Of course you can make your jar as fancy as you like, but the jar I had was so pretty on it’s own I didn’t feel i needed to decorate it.

As a family we like to write down our memories on all kinds of pieces of paper, old bits of birthday cards or coloured card, it’s more playful and fun and it reuses old stuff.

When you get to the end of the year, you open it up and each take out a memory and read it aloud and you get to remember those happy moments that you may have forgotten about.
